Welcome January

Don’t forget tomorrow’s meeting will be at Florence’s home. Please, don’t bring food. The yarn exchange will also take place, so bring some skeins and fiber and your check book. This fundraiser helps benefit the guild.

  1. Thanks so much to Lesley for reminding us. When you are considering your unloved stash, I am particularly in need of 690 yds of fingering weight yarn, in something appropriate for a shawl. I am participating in the Mystery Knit-A-Long by Ysolda Teague that starts Monday. The idea is you do not know what the end result will be when you start. You get a clue every week for 5 weeks. So you really are knitting on faith! I feel pretty good about this one because I have seen Ysolda’s work and her designs are well thought out. This is her first mystery KAL, and there is an extra twist! Each clue will include a choice – like those old choose-your-own adventure books where the ending changes depending if you take the right or left path in the story. Hundreds of people will be knitting this shawl, but according to my math, there should be 32 possible variations on the shawl, and that’s before you take into account color and weight and fiber-type! Anyone want to join me? Anyway, turns out my fingering weight stash is mostly sock-quantities. If you have something fabulous that needs a new home, please bring it tomorrow. Thanks!!
